David graduated with a B.C.L from NUI Galway in 2004. He obtained a Masters in European and Comparative Law from UL in 2005. He tutored and lectured in the Law Faculty of NUI Galway and trained with now Callan Tansey Solicitors. Upon qualification he became a Solicitor in the Medical Negligence Department of Callan Tansey Solicitors. He was appointed Partner in Callan Tansey in August 2018 and is currently Joint Managing Partner with Niamh Ní Mhurchú.

David has successfully concluded many complex medical negligence cases in Ireland across a number of areas to include:

Cerebral Palsy, Cardiology, Orthopaedics, Fatal Injuries, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Accident & Emergency Negligence, Dental Negligence, Eye Injuries, GP Negligence, Spinal Injury, Surgical Negligence, Shoulder Injuries, Neurology, Misdiagnosis, Delayed Diagnosis etc.

David also represents families at Inquests and has given lectures to the Law Society of Ireland and other organisations.

David is a member of the Sligo Bar Association, the Medical injuries Alliance and Member of Action against medical accidents (AVMA).
