The High Court has approved an interim settlement of €1.5 million in the case of a now 15-year-old girl who was brain injured at birth.
Our David O’Malley, who represented the family, quoted at The Four Courts:
“Sarah is waiting over 11 years for adequate PPO legislation. This is the fourth time the case has been in front of the Courts. The actual cost as borne out by today’s settlement far exceeds what the CPI index would have provided. Sarah’s specialist needs cannot be equated to that index. Today’s settlement is welcomed as it will cover all of Sarah’s needs for the next four years.”
