Justice Coffey ruled on the €2 million euro settlement of Jacinta flood against The Beaumont Hospital. Jacinta became catastrophically injured as a result of a fall unsupervised from a commode. Jacinta was vulnerable having recovered from serious surgery at the time. Outside Court, our David O’Malley remarked that “this is a tragic example of the shambolic state of our health service. Simple nursing supervision here would have avoided this catastrophe.”
