Sinead is the Head of our Family Law Department and has extensive experience in all areas of family law. She specialises in divorce and cohabitation proceedings and provides expert guidance on matters involving children, including access and maintenance.
Recognising the emotional challenges that come with the breakdown of a relationship, Sinead is dedicated to offering clear, practical legal advice to help clients navigate this difficult time. Her goal is to provide compassionate support, making the process as smooth and stress-free as possible while ensuring her clients achieve a fair and just outcome.
Sinead is from Sligo and served her traineeship with us after joining the firm in November 2004. Upon qualifying in 2008, she worked in the Medical Negligence and Litigation Department until 2012.
In 2013, Sinead took up a position as a Senior Solicitor in the Litigation Department of Holmes O’Malley Sexton in Limerick specialising in Personal Injuries and Medical Negligence cases.
In 2019, Sinead returned to Callan Tansey to join our Medical Negligence team and is based in our Sligo Office. Sinead has extensive experience of acting for injured patients and their families. Sinead represents clients throughout the country in the High Court, Circuit Court and Coroner’s Court.
Sinead was appointed Senior Associate to the firm in April 2024 and appointed Head of our Family Law Department in 2025.
