Mary McNamara is a native of Achill Island, Co. Mayo. Mary qualified as a Solicitor in April 2007 having served her apprenticeship with a firm in Cork City prior to working in Counties Donegal, Cavan and Galway. Previously Mary obtained a Diploma in Legal Studies in 1997. Mary went back to education and obtained a L.L.M. in Public Law in N.U.I.G in 2012.

Mary has lectured and tutored in the N.U.I.G and has also tutored on the professional practice course I and II in the Law Society of Ireland. Mary received the Deirdre Casey Memorial Prize on the Professional Practice Course Part II of the Law Society of Ireland for obtaining the highest grade in the Conveyancing Module. Mary joined Callan Tansey Solicitors LLP as Associate Solicitor in July 2023.

Mary specialised mainly in all aspects of Conveyancing, both Residential and Commercial transactions both new and second-hand. as well as drafting and negotiating for different types of Commercial Agreements for all types of businesses. Mary also acted for financial institutions in the registration of and securing good marketable title pertaining to investment and commercial property nationally. Mary has a wealth of knowledge pertaining to landlord and tenant having acted for both commercial landlords and commercial tenants along with drafting negotiating and settling all types of leases as well as negotiating Wind Farm development documentation for landowners and many more such like agreements.

Mary has completed Probate Administration for varied sizes of Estates along with drafting Wills, Trusts and Deeds of Family Arrangements. In addition, Mary was cross border agent for Northern Ireland firms seeking grants of administration in this jurisdiction.

Mary is based between our Boyle and Galway offices.
