Niamh Ni Mhurchu, partner in our Medical Negligence team, represented the family of Grainne Maguire at the inquest into her death.

The coroner has called for a fresh review by the health authorities into the death of the 50-year-old Kells woman, who died in controversial circumstances over two years ago. The family argued that the severity of Grainne’s condition was not acted upon quickly enough when they reached out for help.

The inquest opened last June. It was not reported on at the time, to await the coroner’s verdict and recommendations, which were issued in the last few days.

The grieving family welcomes the call for a fresh probe into the untimely death of Grainne Maguire.
